'99 miata f.s.

Lisa has decided that she doesn't drive the car enough to keep so instead of storing it again she would like to sell it.

Its a base model,no a/c or power anything,no LSD and cloth interior-good news as its the lightest for autox use though.

I'm a straight up guy so here's the deal with the car,it runs and drives great, has around 160k(I need to check)but isn't a prestine example as its been painted prior to us buying it and I've found no evidence of collision repair. It needs a new top and surprisingly the drivers side rocker is showing signs of rust considering it wasn't winter driven, suspect less than ideal storage conditions.
When we put it on the road this spring she wasn't sure what wheels she wanted so we just stuck some new cheapy tires on the daisies so thats what it comes with.

There's a really ratty '99 with 200k on the autotrader for $6500,I think $4500 certified for hers is a fair price.I'll get pictures up tomorrow.

Re: '99 miata f.s.

The rust is probably from clogged drains

- soft top drains. 2 of them, each behind the driver and passenger seat-belts. I used some 14/2 wire i had to poke those clean.

- bottom rocker drains. These are in a stupid spot, on the pinch welds where a lot of people jack their cars up. metal bends and clogs the holes. 2 are in the front, 2 in the rear. both sides. So you have 8 in total. Ran a screw driver in there to open them up. Some people even drill em back open.

- there are some on top of the windshield. Im not sure how to properly unclog them...im sure google knows.

Mazda should have informed everyone to do these things at every oil change or something. So many Winter-stored miatas have rust because of this.

Anyways....good luck with the sale. The daises dont look to bad on the car

Re: '99 miata f.s.

In the interest of not having to store it to just sell it in the spring price is dropped to $3800.

Lots of time to enjoy top down motoring yet so why wait?.

Re: '99 miata f.s.

I happen to be up in Hunstville this week...I would like to see the car.

I have a spec miata race car....thinking this might be good as a parts car.
