2008 Toronto F body Motorsports Club Solo2 schedule.
This year I am the Solo 2 director of the Toronto F Body Motorsports club. Solo2 or Autocross gives you a great oppurtunity to learn what your car can do in a safe controlled enviroment for a reasonable cost. We are a group of Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts that enjoy using our cars for what they were designed for. We pop the hoods to show off the bling too, but we really like to drive them. Wave seen cars from the 60’s, to 07’s and stock to highly modified. They all have fun.
For the last 3 years we have hosted a Mustang / F Body Solo2 Challenge. This is a great deal of fun pitting your skills and car against the Blue Oval crowd. All types of cars are welcome and you do not need to be a member, but you will get a reduced price as a member as well as all the benifits that comes from being a member. http://forums.tfbm.org/index.php?t=msg&th=5320&start=0& http://forums.tfbm.org/index.php?t=msg&th=5342&start=0& So put these date on your calender now: Sunday June 8th Sunday July 27th (GTAMC challenge) Sunday August 10th All the events will be at the Powerade Center in Brampton. Here are a couple videos from last year. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/9...5001677c41.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/3...9100f1c8c1.htm We look forward to seeing you there. Check in here for updates. http://forums.tfbm.org/index.php?t=msg&th=5168&start=0& Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. |

What's the price for members vs non members?

Re: 2008 Toronto F body Motorsports Club Solo2 schedule.
Sorry Mike I have been travelling the last 3 weeks.
Home now. The price will be $25 for members, and $35 for non members. So if you are planning on attending all three, the membership is a good deal and will get you various discounts from local GM dealerships. Up until Performance World the price for a membership is $30, after that it goes to $40. We also had a great deal for the Toronto Autoshow, but that deal is now full. GM will be hosting our club for a Saturday morning meet and greet with the new 2009 Camaro, breakfast and free admission for the member and guest afterwards. It turned out to be a really good deal since the tickets are $20 per person to get in alone. Keep an eye on our website for other events like this for members. www.tfbm.org Last edited by Rampant WS6; 02-11-2008 at 02:39 PM. |

Re: 2008 Toronto F body Motorsports Club Solo2 schedule.
Hopefully with Dale in charge of the autocrosses now, the course layouts won't be as brutal as I experienced at my only f-body event last year and the attitudes will be better.
Dale's a good guy and I'm sure he'll do it right. Congrats... a move in the right direction.

I must admit I had no major isses with them, though they may be a little tailored to the big grumbly V8 crowd that are not as easy to turn Then again, I managed to always have the FTD, except when your buddy trailered in his VW. By the end of the day I was within 2 sec of him but he had not had a chance to really feel out the course either. Please give me any input, I will do my best to learn from it. I will be doing my layouts with Autocad and hope to post them a week or two in advance. We are a smaller club so we do not have as many cones to layout as some, so we get creative. This year my car will be at least 50lb lighter in the nose and packing close to 600 rwhp, just what I needed. Can you say Mod class.

Re: 2008 Toronto F body Motorsports Club Solo2 schedule.
Is it possible to set a course that an F body can get through in a lot the size of the powerade centre?

There's some vids and old course maps on the TFBM site. I must say they're very creative.....

Re: 2008 Toronto F body Motorsports Club Solo2 schedule.
A review on the event!
23 cars of all class and expense showed up to race and few interesting cars watched. We had 9 club members show up to race, and 13 guests. Some of the interesting highlights: -No rain or Lightening! Just heat and a sunburn. -2006 Viper ran a best of 91.833 -Curtis in his Supercharged Miata went 85.685 -Ben Wong Black Camaro SS was the F Body Hot shoe again 86.657 -Dean was hot on his heels Silver Firehawk 89.010 -Allen Black Camaro SS close in toe with 89.343 -On a street tire Murray Blue SS was flying with 90.696 -some dumb azz ran a Hemi Magnum and pushed more than 2 tons to a 97.9 with a giddy passenger -not to be forgotten Ray Orange Z28 is the King of Tokyo Drift! -Managed a 89.78 in the Silver Firehawk. -Chris H ran a 91.422 in his Miata -Micheal B ran a 96.832 in his Isuzu - Hardware and Operating System issues felt a little like this today. Despite the issues we got 6 runs in by 4:30. ![]() Eventually we got it sorted out. Seems to be Vista with my Dell Laptop does not like a USB mouse on the USB bus while I am using the USB input from the timer I know some peple got some video and pics, so please post up. I hope everyone else had fun too, I liked the course it had flow and was not quite as fast a most thought it would be. A pic of me and Chris H in the Firehawk! ![]() It was great seeing you again after 20 years Chris, we both still seem to love cars. Looking forward the next event and having my own car to beat on. |
