Yes it's that time again! Time for more indoor fun! You guessed it......

KARTING!! KARTING!! KARTING!! KARTING!! KARTING!!

Event #4 for the 2008 HADA Winter Karting Series is on Sunday February 17th!!!

We had our biggest group yet last event!! I'm very pleased to see attendance getting bigger and the competition getting more fierce as each event goes on! So if you haven't come out karting with us yet, you're missing out on a ton of fun!

As always, trophies are on order and once again your BoD has donated more door prizes to be raffled off!! So come on out and battle for some "hardware" and win some sweet HADA swag!!

Event #5; Sunday March 16th

Registration opens at 8:00am and closes at 8:25am SHARP!!!!!!!!!
Please show up early so we can get all the registration out of the way.
Driver's meeting is at 8:30 am sharp in the VIP Lounge, and we'll be on track by 8:40am!!

This event will be limited to 30 driver's.

We had issues last time of the event going on too long. I understand that people may have other commitments later on during the day so please show up early so we can get started on time!

Event Structure
Once again we've decided to mix things up again! Wes gave Ken a suggestion last event..

Each driver will have one, 10 minute qualifying session followed by two 20 lap races.

Your grid position for the FIRST race will be based on your single fastest qualifying lap.

...now here's the kicker hehhehehe

For the SECOND race we will take the fastest drivers from each of the first round of races and the will be grouped together for the second race. The remaining racers (bottom half) Will be grouped together for the second race. This way the fastest driver's of the first races will be all grouped together)

(example: Say we have two groups of 10 racers. The top 5 finishers of each of the first races will be grouped together for the second race. Then the bottom 5 finishers from the first round of races will be grouped together. Or say if we end up having three run groups the top third will be placed together, then the middle third will be together, then the bottom third will be grouped together)

GPK points will be awarded based on finishing position for each of the races. The driver who finishes with the most amount of points will be the event winner! In the event of a tie, positions will be sorted by faster lap time.

There will be a maximum of 10 karts on the track at a time. The top 10 HADA members will earn points towards our championship series.

Cost
Cost for HADA members is $65.00 (tax included)
Cost for SPDA members is $65.00 (tax included)
Cost for CASC-OR members is $70.00 (tax included)
and for NON-HADA members is $75.00 (tax included)

KEN will be collecting all track fee's (once again in CASH or CHEQUE form ONLY) on behalf of the club and forwarding payment to GP Kartways.

Directions;
From Hwy 401:
North on Allen Expressway to Sheppard Ave. West. Turn left (west) and proceed four lights to John Drury Drive, turning left once more. Turn left on Carl Hall Road and follow around to 75 Carl Hall Rd. We are located in the second building of the industrial complex.

From Keele Street:
Turn east on Sheppard Ave. West and proceed to next lights. Turn right (south) on John Drury Drive and take this to Carl Hall Road, at which point you will turn left and follow to our entrance. We are located in the second building of the 75 Carl Hall Road industrial complex.

Driver's Championship Title
Points will be given to the top 10 HADA members for their OVERALL finishing position and for their fastest lap time for this event; (points are awarded for fastest lap time because there will be no qualifying to give points to)

Points will be awarded (overall finish + qualifying position) to the top 10 HADA members in the following fashion;

Qualifying;
1st place = 10 points
2nd place = 9 points
3rd place = 8 points
4th place = 7 points
5th place = 6 points
6th place = 5 points
7th place = 4 points
8th place = 3 points
9th place = 2 points
10th place = 1 points

Finishing Position
1st place = 20 points
2nd place = 18 points
3rd place = 16 points
4th place = 14 points
5th place = 12 points
6th place = 10 points
7th place = 8 points
8th place = 6 points
9th place = 4 points
10th place = 2 points

Overall series champion will be based on the best 4 out of 5 events!

As always, we have booked a VIP room so everyone will have somewhere safe to leave all their belongings as it will be LOCKED while we're out racing. We will be using the VIP room for the driver's meeting before we hit the track, and afterwards for the trophy presentation for our podium finishers. If you need to get into the room come get Ken and he'll get the key from our pit manger.

Post-event breakfast!!
We'd like to invite everyone to come hangout afterwards, and join us for some breakfast at the Downsview Dinner, which is south on Keele St. on the east side a few block down from GP. Usually a bunch of us will go down to get a bite to eat, talk some smack and hangout for a while! It's fun times and a nice way to wind down from karting. Oh btw it's an OLD SCHOOL dinner and they take Ca$H only just so you know!
