April Test Days at Calabogie

As long as the snow is gone, we will be running two test days for race cars on April 18-19. Alternating open and closed wheel sessions, and these are race test days which means open passing and race license required. Details in the Extra Events (Lapping) forum.

Caveat emptor, sound limits are in place for these two days, 100 dBA static in the paddock and 92 on the flyby. Doesn't require much of an exhaust to pass, but you'll need something.

You can sign up on the website:

www.calabogiemotorsports.com and go to the calendar page, click on April 18 or 19 to sign up. Hope to see you all there. PM or email me if you have any questions.

So Bruce ... any word on the track conditions for this weekend? We're working hard getting both cars ready, so get that plow guy out there!

Re: April Test Days at Calabogie

The track is ready, and we'd really like to see people come out and enjoy it. I was on it yesterday, it's in great shape - no heaves, no cracks, nothing but smooth surface.
PM, email or just post here if you are coming out - right now we only know of about 5 cars that are coming.

Arek - make sure that toy is ready, I'm looking forward to seeing it as long as you keep all four wheels pointing down.

Great! We'll have at least 1 car there, and maybe both ... planning on both days (gotta shake those cobwebs out!)

Re: April Test Days at Calabogie

Roger, we'll be running the full track on Saturday.

FYI for everyone, PLEASE READ, due to a lack of participation, we are going to CANCEL THE FRIDAY SESSION and only run on Saturday. Sorry about that but we have no committed cars for Friday at this point, and I have to pay the ALS/Safety Crew and the Flatbed for the day which doesn't make much sense right now.

Thanks,
Bruce

Re: April Test Days at Calabogie

Well, you guys all missed a hell of a test day. Perfect weather, very little traffic, basically a private track day on a 100% glass smooth track! I bested by time from last year by 5/10s in my second of MANY sessions.

So if you all suck at the MCO Ted Powell weekend in July, you can't complain about lack of practice!

Re: April Test Days at Calabogie

Wish I could have made it Had to take the wife to a soccer tourney in the States.

I noticed on the Calabogie website that there's lapping on the 10th and 11th of May. Is that open to race cars or is it meant strictly for street cars? Anyone have info on this?

Re: April Test Days at Calabogie

Always open to race cars, as long as you make sound and remember, point by passing only, not open passing. Hope to see you there!
