Pitl #2

Thanks to the MSOC guys (and Taylor) for putting on another awesome event. Luckily the weather held out this time. Driving that killer technical course was awesome, but marshalling was well.......

Yes, it was another well run event.

Sorry for the in-between run delays. When you're trying something new every event, unforseen things occur. The delay was mostly due to the fact we added an additional USB device to the laptop and it only had 1 USB port so we had to hot-swap the devices and neither really liked it, so it resulted in slow start time to print and a reboot every time it was finished. Shouldn't be a problem next time... though all that said, we had 6 timed runs and fun runs (sorta like today).

There was some serious discussion in the tent during the event about single manned marshalling stations. So who knows...

PITL does bring out more new competitors than most other series and there was an attempt to improve things (stationwise) with the radios but only half the radios seemed to work. Some guys used them others reported hearing only static.. (no idea if it was operator error or not).

One thing I can say about the PITL series is there is no lack of enthusiasm or willingness to "do more" or try new things. They guys still have fun running the events and rarely are we ever stressed out (though I was pretty stressed yesterday. 3 trips home!

All they need now is a PA system for the new timing software, and it will be fantastic. Does she have a name, btw? I was thinking Eliza would be good...
