Cdn Motor Speedway - vote & petition to support

Hey everyone, I know this is not the first time to bring up the topic about the proposed track in Fort Erie, but I was just forwarded this info, and thought it important enough to post.

It's going for a public vote on December 7th, so if anyone else is planning to show support, now is the time... strength in numbers. Plus they also have a petition to support the track.

here's the message I received...

THIS IS IT! The vote for approval goes Monday December 7, 2009, 6 p.m. @ Fort Erie Town Hall.

This will be the final meeting for approval and we need to have a major presence on this night. The opponents will be there in force and we need to show the voters how passionate we are about this development. Again I Thank You for all your messages, comments and support. Each and every one of you HAVE made a difference. The Facebook group has a prominent place in generating awareness and support for the CMS project and Town Council has noted that. The developers and partners have noticed what you have done as well, and are most appreciative. I will post a link on the "events" section of the CMS Group page about the Vote Meeting. Please show on the 7th and bring all the support you can muster. Thank You!

here's another update I just got

It goes for a vote on the 7th with the town, and then goes to the region on the 9th! These are the two most important meetings where we need to show our support.

Niagara Regional Council has commenced their review of the Canadian Motor Speedway proposal and are now accepting comments from area residents.

So I went to this meeting last night. It was 6 hours... ugh...

in the end they voted unanimously to approve the speedway. WOO HOO!

Next meeting is with the region tomorrow night. I can't make that meeting, if anyone goes please post up the results.

The Regional meeting is at 1pm tomorrow weather permitting.

Not quite. Today's meeting saw the regional planning committee support an amendment to the region policy plan. It still has to go before the entire Niagara Region council for a vote. That's a few more days away.
