BMW Club Race Sept 10-12
While I realize that this is in the middle of the busy September stretch of regional races, I would nevertheless like to invite any BMW driver with a CASC race license to particpate in the BMWCCA Club Race at Mosport September 10-12, hosted by the Trillium chapter of the BMW Club of Canada.
BMW cars do not have to conform to any of the specific club racing classes to particpate - you may participate within the class you normally run in at CASC events, with the car prepared to the requirements of that class. Admittedly this could mean you might be the only car in that class, but this event does give drivers the opportunity to come out and have some fun racing with a different group of racers. The driver must hold a BMWCCA club racing license (which in turn requires a BMW club membersip). As a CASC license holder, with race experience, you should be eligible for a provisional BMWCCA license. Your personal safety equipment must meet BMWCCA requirements (which, for some of you, will require the purchase of a head and neck restraint). BMWCCA club racing information is available at http://www.bmwccaclubracing.com. We are also welcoming Porsche Club Racers to the event. Any licensed PCA club racers may also participate, though you will have to be a member of the BMWCCA (you do not require a BMWCCA Club Racing license in this case). The cost is $495 for all three days. The tentative format is: Friday to be a test and tune day, with five 35 or 45 minute sessions; Saturday to consist of a practice, qualify and two short sprint races; Sunday to consist of a practice or qualify and a 45-minute sprint. For more information, please send me an email at allan-lewis (at) rogers.com. Thanks Allan Last edited by AllanL; 07-11-2010 at 06:47 PM. |

Re: BMW Club Race Sept 10-12
Question on the provisional license. Do we obtain that through the BMWCCA website or is that something we can get at sign in at the track? How much is it?
Should be a fun weekend. Who's coming? |

Re: BMW Club Race Sept 10-12
You need to get your license through the regular means by going online at http://www.bmwccaclubracing.com/NewR...NewRacers.aspx. It normally costs $85 but since this would now by a rush application it will cost $100 extra.
There are 19 drivers registered at this point, 11 from the Toronto area, 6 from the US and a couple from Ottawa/Montreal area. Including the entire RAVEN crowd of course. |

Re: BMW Club Race Sept 10-12
You guys should consider either allowing a CASC-OR or ASN license, or perhaps have a weekend only temp license. I`d like to attend the race, but adding another another $100 for the license, plus the BMW club membership is going to be hard to justify for 1 race weekend. Do it like PBOC does in the us, and allow non BMW members to come out.
Ok ... just checked it out. So it $85 PLUS $100 for a rush application, plus a BMW club membership ...

Re: BMW Club Race Sept 10-12
It's BMWCCA Club Racing administration that makes the decision about whether to allow non-BMW club racing licensees in and not our chapter. There are discussions going on about the rules under which non-BMWCCA drivers can particpate, but there won't be any changes this year.
