Burning car=warmer air behind burning car=less dense air behind burning car=less drag slipstreaming burning car, than slipstreaming same non-burning car at ambient temperature.

There was very light rain, in various parts of the track. In a few spots more than just light rain. If you watch the windshield carefully you can see rain beading up. Also, I have this race on VHS somewhere. the whole broadcast not just his in car feed and remember rain of some sort. It's been a few years since I watched it, but the broadcast was heavy on #84's or was it #9's in car footage. Still an amazing drive!!
I'm going to have to digitize my collection before the ravages of time destroy my magnetic tape collection. Maybe I should start a thread about it. Maybe I will tomorrow. Since I am too full to move due to holiday overindulgences.
