Mobil 1 Time-Attack and Autoslalom Open House this weekend

For those of you who have been putting off getting involved in Motorsport, or know of someone who has been sitting on the sidelines, you just got a kick in the pants to get off your (or their) duff and get involved.

The annual time trial and autoslalom Open house is taking place at CSC racing on Sunday Apr 10 in Newmarket.

Previously known as SoloSprint, the new Mobil 1 Time-Attack series has made a number of improvements in the day to day running of the events. The series still has the best car classification system on the continent which makes sure that no car is completely outclassed by another car in the same class and it still has an excellant pax based scoring system to allow drivers to compare themselves to other drivers in other classes. New this year is significantly extended lapping (i.e 3 hours minimum) to allow everyone a much better chance to learn a track. Also we will be employing paid marshals that means competitors can concentrate more on driving and less on getting ready for their marshalling duties. Also there won't be the delays between run groups while we transport marshals to their corners. Add to this a significant number of new contingency awards and the biggest variety of tracks of any race series in the country and you can see why we expect the Mobil 1 Time-Attack series to be the premier time trial series in Canada.

So why go to the Open house? There are significant discounts for those who sign up for events at the Open house including the excellant 2 day school at the DDT in May and the MIR school in July. For those of you more experienced drivers, consider the Time-Attack Nationals weekend at MIR. 3 days of MIR for only $495 !! Obviously we are limiting the number of entrants and the Open house is the first place you can sign up.

For newbies, the 5 clubs of the Otao have agreed to a joint club membership and CASC class C licence fee of $100 available only at the Open house. Please note this is only available to novices to a CASC sanctioned time-trial series. Also our hosts CSC racing are offering discounts on in-stock items.
