Class winners are posted

For those who have a hard time distinushing between a 2 and a 3 and a 1 & 4 all on one sheet the class points are now listed.

Thanks Steve, I wouldn't want to confuse too many.

Congrats Nick...

For someone who was going to chuck it all in last season because they felt they weren't good enough and was frustrated in being at the back of the pack, I guess finishing 5th overall in class 12 with that German tank puts a smile on your face.

Well done in your second year!!!!

Thats the trouble with deteriorating conditions- its always a judgement call by the organizing club on when to call it off.
I was surprised that they allowed the stud cars to run at all on Sunday, probably because it was the last day of racing they let it slide. But if the stud cars hadnt run, the track would have held together a little longer for the rubber races.
May have been an economics issue too. If the stud cars run their first race, then no entry fees have to be refunded for Sunday.
The first heat races on Sunday were still OK for rubber cars, only a 3" deep puddle on the straight with a narrow line around it on either side. The second set of races is where it got nasty- in my estimation thats when the day should have been called off- before the second round of races began. Again , because it was the last day of racing the organizers wanted to keep the racing going until just before it became unsafe. And that can be a very tough call.

As to your overall scoring, I calculate that Frank Neilsen would still have *just *finished ahead of you for 5th place by a score of 199 to 196 if Sundays races had not run.
(Since 21 total races would still have been run there would still be 4 drops)
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Since we race in the "Banana Belt" of Ontario we are almost always going to have to run in the slush/water at some point in the season- all we can do is prepare for it- new wiper blades, high speed on wiper motor, "slush" tires, bailing bucket

Focus on the positive- You finished in the top 6 of one of the largest classes running! Isnt this your first *full* season of competition? I'd call that awesome!

Congrats,

Tony

Yes I have to concur, Lisa you did an outstanding job this past season showing some us not so seasoned vets up. That is why you will find her profile in the spring issue of BARC's newsletter, 'On Track". Not a BARC member too bad, you won't get a copy and that lends me to ask you, why not?

Tony, just let me inform you of one point here. This might have been the original thinking (I was not privy to the decision) but when the day starts at the drivers meeting the entire event is now in the control of the Clerk of the course. He is the one that ultimately controls the track and the safety of the drivers. I understand being the last day that they would run any and all to allow the drivers one last shot. Until there is a safety isse then they will continue to run. I have no trouble listening to my Clerk (well I have to due to CASC regulations) that if he deems it unsafe, we refund. No questiions asked.

Now let's debate the Street Stud Class, NOT!

Don,t forget Lisa that you also would have moved up in the standings if it were not for a certain hand-brake application by an un-named passenger! Well done from a part-time coach!

Memo to Mr Rashleigh:

Very amusing to hear you comment on MY Brain fade with Lisa's handbrake considering you went from first to third with your hnadbrake on during the last race - when I passed you I thought I was just driving some good lines - then I find out you were trying to race the final 3 laps with YOUR handbrake on !!

-Ken

Hi Ken, It was not bad only finishing third with 2 wheels locked up! At least it got me out of a dinner run! yes, that was a good one. I will make improvements so that will not happen again!
Lisa also had some help by others to face in the wrong direction as well this season! She will beat them next year I'm sure.
Cheers: Bryan

I was waiting for Mr. "Toyota Magnate" to chime in on this one but its not happening , so..

"Improvements" to the car or to the driver???

So you are either going to duct tape the handbrake release button so it cant lock, or-
Install a firewire port on the back of your brain so you can download some W.R.C. driving software right into your cranium- cool!
I guess with your Subaru connections getting some "Petter Solberg" software shouldnt be too hard.

Bryan- if you figure out how to do the second option let me know, i could use an injection of 'talent' myself. I've never spun a car so many times in my life as this season in rubber class.

Tony

P.S. The line up is already forming to the right!

P.P.S. You may have left Minden but the abuse never ends!!

P.P.P.S. Wait a minute, you just won the "Overall" Rubber trophy again for like the 20th time and you want to improve???? Havent you run out of closet space for all those jackets yet???

tHE ABUSE DOES NEVER END!

Hey Tony, You are right! You make one litte mistake around our group and they never let you forget for years and years! The problem with the hand brake was the duct tape. Every year I retape the button but the tape job does not last. In the 2 Hyundai's I took out one button and dowl pinned the other. Why not the Tercel: who knows! I taped it so I could use it when on the trailer! As for our brain fades, 4wd I found after the 3 years I ran the XT6 is the toughest one to figure out and drive. I remember having the Subaru pointed the wrong way myself a few times! We'll discuss in depth at the banquet! See you there! Cheers: Bryan
