Question

How much does it cost to rent the "AURORA ROOM" at the parkway ? Sounds like a extra expense that leads to inflated entry fees !

Jeffery,
Just so you know the fees paid by CASC-OR to rent a room at the hotel are covered by CASC-OR from it's operational budget and has no effect on entry fees.
The entry fees are set by "the" (your) clubs. If you think the fees are too high, maybe you should take it up by the participating clubs.

Question

So ,if the CASC had a surplus they would not use it to lower entry fees ,thereby attracting more competiters ? Is it not true that more competiters equals more revenue ,which would in turn lower the cost per entry. I understand that clubs set the fee's ,but is this not based on costs set forth by CASC? Is it not also true that all clubs must charge the same fee's at their respective events? I think the CASC took a giant step in the right direction when they re staffed the office. It is my understanding that payroll costs are lower and from experiance I can tell you it is a pleasant experiance when you call looking for information!!

The costs are set by the Ontaro Race Organizers (ORO) committee. They set the prices based on estimated (or real) costs for the year, predicted turnout and a number of other factors. ORO clubs have been losing money in the beginning thourgh the middle of the season - generally events August and later have high enough turnouts to actually break-even - or even generate small amounts of revenue. Given the number of racers that come out, I don't think that many clubs can support cheaper entry fees. If you are part of a club that organizes one of the races (BARC, BEMC, CRDA, DAC, or MCO), try talking to your club's secretary of the meet and ask about the costs and expenses. It's pretty surprising when you look at all the numbers.

It's hard to say. It depends on what items arise from rules discussions.
