Track Update?

Well it's the new year and race season is just 17 days away.. hows the track coming along?!?

I heard there is a kink in the straight and a loop after turn 2 (Saturday) before the kink. It should be amazing.



They are still working on adding 20deg banking into the two corners before the straight and the jump proved difficult so they are going to add it later in the season.

I also heard talk of taking the track down the hill and into the baseball diamond and then back up. Maybe that was just Brian, Tim and I talking about that though.

We are further along this year than last, with an average depth of ice of 6 to 8 inches... We just need snow for the banks ...

Banks are low but in place. Great ice base everywhere.

Looks way better than the picture in my mind with this mild weather.

Lets hope that Mother nature plays along soon.

Guessing we need a foot or more of snow and 6-10 more inches of ice. More of both would not likely be rejected by anyone. 2-3 feet of snow would decrease trucking I think.

how much ice is needed for a healthy season assuming temps stay the same?

We need 12" of healthy ice, that is without shell or air in it, believe it or not todays rain would have done it some good ..

Now just pray for cold...

Snowing like a mofo in Huntsville right now,doesn't take many inches across the paddock/track to be bermed to the track to build the banks up.

We'll all be able to play this weekend imo,not sure about menards but it is also frickin cold all week.
