2018 Picton CASC Regional Autoslalom I & II

Are you a history fan? Got a penchant for scenic drives through Wine Country or perhaps you're just in the mood to strike fear into the hearts of helpless cones who've done nothing to you? If you said yes to any of the above, then we've got the double-header weekend for you.

If you haven't already done so, please mark your May calendar on the 26-27th and join us for the annual Picton Regional Autoslaloms.

This year promises to be different* as we have added the chance to get some instruction for those who are new to the sport, are able to provide--free-of-charge--directions to the new wineries in the area and feature more port-a-potties than ever before**!

In addition to the above, we are pleased to announce the opening of our MSReg page and provide you with the Supplementary Regulations.*** Here you'll find everything you need to know about spending time in beautiful Prince Edward County. Who knows, you might even bump into a hipster or two. One thing's for sure, you'll see this fee structure and, yes, you can pay online this year:

Advance Payment: $55 per day OR $100 for both days

Day of Payment: $60 per day

CASC Regionally Registered Competitors Advance Payment: $45 per day OR $80 for both days

CASC Regionally Registered Competitors Day of Payment: $55 per day

Registration through Motorsport Reg is mandatory whether you pay in advance or not.

For more information or to register, please visit: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...ontario-640778

Supplementary Regulations, 2018 are available here: http://stlac.ca/2018/04/may-picton-r...y-regulations/

* Different is not meant to imply better.
** Maybe.

Re: 2018 Picton CASC Regional Autoslalom I & II

New for 2018, the CASC Regional Autoslalom series is partnering with the Pinnacle Advanced Driving Academy to provide free instruction to all attendees. They will be in attendance for both St. Lac events and both TLMC events to cover half of the 2018 CASC Autoslalom Regional Series.

Instruction is beneficial to all competitors. From novice competitors right through to the more experienced ones, sometimes a different perspective can be hugely beneficial. All instructors are hand picked and actively compete in autoslalom and they specialize in helping new drivers get on track and into motorsports.

PADA will have their tent set up so they are easy to find. Everyone is welcome to drop by to say hello and chat with some fellow enthusiasts. Discounts will also be offered on site to any of their driving courses for those who may be interested.

You can learn more about them at http://www.pinnacledriving.com/

One of the best autocross facilities I've ever experienced - scratch that - the best one I've experienced and I can't make it this year :_(

Nonetheless, I wish everyone the best and will put in a request for great weather and smiles for everyone.

Meanwhile, I'll be putting around with the folks from Time Attack when I'm not confined to the timing truck.

Re: 2018 Picton CASC Regional Autoslalom I & II

While St LAC has been focused on getting everything ready for the Nationals, the annual regional event is never very far from our minds. So far, we've streamlined the registration process (extra lines, in the paddock), doubled the shuttling, secured a sound system and more.

One of the questions we always receive is with respect to 'where to stay' and to that end here are a number of possibilities:

Belleville is a mere 29 minutes away from Picton and a number of spots offer a preferred rate for those there for racing. The password is Shannonville...

Hotels that Support Shannonville:

Fairfield Inn & Suite by Marriott
407 North Front St,
Belleville, Ontario
613-962-9211 or 1-800-228-2800

Holiday Inn Express
291 North front St,
Belleville, Ontario
613-962-1200 or 1-800-holiday

Belleville Motel 5
325 North Front St.,
Belleville, Ontario
613-968-5353 Racer rates available

Isaiah Tubbs Resort
1642 County Rd,
Picton, Ontario
1-800-724-2393 OR 613-393-2090

Comfort Inn
200 North Park St.,
Belleville, Ontario
1-800-228-5150 OR 613-966-7703
ask for the "L-RACE RATE"

Best Western
387 N. Front St.,
Belleville, Ontario
1-800-WESTERN OR 613-969-1112

Soon!

Quick reminder, if you are walking in on either the Saturday or Sunday morning you'll still be registering online through MS Reg but will NOT be able to pay online. You'll have to pay cash, $55 per day for CASC-OR Regionally Registered Competitors or $60 per day for others.

Kind of outdated about what is required nowadays but do you need to have a class c/d license if you are not participating as part of the regionals. And do you need to have a St LAC membership to participate?
