Unfortunately yes, there is an update, our venue at Centralia could not commit so it has fallen through. The decision process concerning the national event has gone back up to ASN-FIA at this point.

If only there'd been a club that was capable of either organizing or standing aside at Picton.

ASN usually requires an announcement of the CAC well in advance of the event and with the Picton airfield being up for sale they won't confirm dates there greater than 4 months out. So confirming an event there in July back in February wasn't going to happen.

You may be pleased to know that the Picton event is under new management and much effort has already been made to make it a better experience.

Picton Air field is the best location for Auto-X in all of Ontario IMO.

That'd be the great turnaround we all hope for. Will see you there.

Hi all,

It would appear that my above comment has been interpreted as being of some turpitude. Upon reflection, I can understand this. It was not meant to be disparaging what so ever. In fact, a debt of gratitude is owed to the former crew who made this wonderful event happen for many a year. Without them, St LAC wouldn't have more than a nickel to its name.

So, I ask everyone's indulgence and to believe me when I say that I let the former marketing-man in me get carried away. In place of the above I would like to offer the following:

For those of you who may be wondering, Picton is on again this year. It will be under new management but we promise to do the best we can!

Or:

Picton is on again this year. It will be under new management but we promise to do the best we can!

In addition, I would like to offer my sincerest apology to anyone who felt offended by my impetuousness.

Sincerely,

Roger Curtis
St LAC

Re: 2018 CAC (unofficial rumors)

Looking forward to picton again this year. Over the past few years it has been hit or miss on whether or not there was security Friday and Saturday nights. I was wondering if we could get a heads up either way, so we can make appropriate plans?

Thanks for organizing. Canít wait to see what this year brings

The plan is to have security there both nights. All of the information and registration information for the first two events of the season at Picton are coming soon!
