The Secret Weapon revealed!

Oh well, since it's not going to make it to WOSCA this sunday I might as well post pics. This is what you FSS guys have to fear next year!

Lightweight RWD with a buttery-smooth Cosworth engine that revs to 7500 RPM, all wrapped up in a package so eighties you can smell the Van Halen tape. How can you go wrong?

Only has 145 000 km on it.

More pics here.

It's presently undergoing some minor repairs though. It'll be in fighting form for '05!

Ya, that's the one. DSS? Dang - guess I should read the rulebook.

I thought all HS and GS cars moved to FSS. I used to run the Mirage against these things under the old rules in B1.

That looks absolutely gorgeous man. What a great find. I'm totally jealous!
Jason's right though. In stock form all Corolla's run in HS. But once modified, the AE86 Corolla moves to DSS/DSP, while all other Corolla's are in FSS/FSP.

nope for another example of this have a look at the 4th gen civic Si(88 to 90) it moves from HS to CSS...

The old rules are nothing like the new rules.... no more families so cars that compete against each other in one prep level might not compete against each other in another prep level....

Nah, I can't resist the urge to tinker with things. I'll probably run some club events in HS while I learn the car but it'll most likely be DSS for regionals. (Besides my car has a sunroof so I really want to stiffen it up.)

Tom, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I am very much still interested. Do those rear springs change the ride height?

You betcha!

I think about an inch and a halfish, never really measured and the stock springs were tossed eons ago to compare. The rear springs are trd race units with a linear rate of 4.7 kg.
I would suggest something around 350 lbs for the front to go along with the rears, depending on wether you go for camber plates.I used 550's for solo2 but tried 350's(with street rubber)for drifting and the car felt much better up front-shocks are underdamped for the 550's for sure.
I will be putting the car on stands this weekend and removing the suspension buy next weekend, please let me know asap before I commit to sending it out west.I'm willing to drop the price a little from what we talked about last time.I'll also help you with alignment's/tech tips etc if you'd like.
