From Toronto Tirecraft about Street Studs

From Jeff Wenzel:

STREET STUDS

In an effort to look after our competitors

1. All Street Stud competitors are invited to drop off their street stud tires for a complementary re-conditioning and re-pinning.

2. Tires that have torn pockets and that are no longer re-studable will be eligible for a $50.00 credit towards the purchase of a new tire, providing the overall tire remains in good condition, ie: no sidewall damage or serious cuts, snags, etc. This will be up to the discretion of Toronto Tirecraft.

For more information contact Jeff at 905.760.1130.

Re: From Toronto Tirecraft about Street Studs

what was the outcome of reducing the stud length in SS tires?

In my opinion, the stud lengths in the ss tires are too long.
I'd wager the great stud loss can be directly attributed to the studs sticking out too far.

As well, the studs sticking out too far are probably not as effective as if they were shorter as it is the edge of the stud hitting the ice, not the hardened centre pc.

Jeff is looking into all options. He wants to try to fix the existing tires before we have to repin all tires.
