Event 5 took place at Toronto Motorsports Park on a sweltering 30+ degree temperature day - the norm for southern Ontario in 2012.  Keeping hydrated was everyone's primary focus.

Competition in most classes is very fierce.  In SGT 3, Dave Barker (OMSC) in his 04 Corvette Z06 was only 1.759 seconds behind the leader of the class, Lloyd Martin (SPDA) in his 03 Corvette Z06.  In GT1 Martin Crisp in his 011 Nissan 370Z edged out Sal Vilardo (SPDA) in his 88 Ford Mustang by a scant .088 seconds.  In GT3, Andrew Van De Peer (HADA) in his 92 Honda Civic was able to hold off John Coey (SPDA) in his 010 MazdaSpeed3 by .523 seconds.  In GT4, Ujjwal Verma (SPDA) in his 03 Ford Mustang edged out a hard charging Erik Dalla Riva (SPDA) in his 98 Honda Civic by a mere .992 seconds.  Ujjwal is our current points leader but no one until the emergence of Erik has gotten this close in GT4.

The top three competitors for the day were, Ujjwal Verma (SPDA), Chris Paczcynski (HADA) and Lloyd Martin (SPDA).  The top three novices were, Erid Dall Riva (SPDA), Corey Whiteman (TLMC) and John Coey (SPDA).  The fastest three competiotrs were, Dov Aronoff (SPDA), James Kutschke (SPDA) and Martin Gdyczynski (SPDA).

In the Overall Novice Standings, Ralph Scholtes (OMSC) occupies top spot in his 93 Mazda MX3.  Holding down second spot is Aaron Thompson (SPDA) in his 012 MazdaSpeed3.  A meagre .574 points separate the two competitors.

In the Overall Championship Standings, Ujjwal Verma (SPDA) has 500 points, Lloyd Martin is close behind with 496.278 points and Sal Vilardo (SPDA) occupies third spot with 489.719 points.
