I have been told we are short PIT LANE Marshals, SCRUTINEERING staff, and GRID CREW for the CASC-OR Touring Races being held this weekend at CTMP. I realize we had all hands on deck this past weekend for the Vintage Grand Prix, but we are particularly short-staffed right now for the next event. If you are available to help out, even if you haven't done these particular jobs before, we'll be pleased to gvie you "on the job experience" in these or any other areas you are willing and able to help.
If you are a racer, but you aren't driving this weeklend, why don't you help out at the event. It will give you a much greater appreication for what the volunteers do for us.
The CASC-OR Board, as well as all of the clubs, recognize it is becoming more difficult to staff events. People are willing, but it is hard to give up an entire weekend, and frankly, it can be expensive.
First and foremost, if you can help us out this weekend, please do so. On a more general note, if you have suggestions of what we need to do going forward to make volunteering more "attractive", please send me your ideas.
On behalf of the racers, thank you to everyone that helps out as an official, a worker, or a volunteer for motorsports. We can't turn a wheel without you!
