Introduced to racing by my dad and I started volunteering with the CTA in the early ’80s. Not long after, I jumped into the driver’s seat myself—first with ice racing, and later that same year in a Lotus 61 F1600. From there, I competed in regional events and in the Beckers Canon (later Yokohama) series, driving a Crossle 30F.
As our family’s love for racing grew, so did our collection of cars—starting with an ’83 Tiga and a pair of ’84 Reynard F2000s, a Honda CRX, and two F1600 Ferrets for summer racing. Over the years, we’ve also enjoyed a variety of ice racers, from Austin Minis to Honda CRXs and Toyotas.
I’ve worn many volunteer hats: Timing & Scoring, Membership Director (CTA), Registration, Mock Grid, Results, Scorekeeper, Race Committee, Steward, and Chief Ice Race Instructor.
I met my husband, Keith Willis, at the track, and racing has been part of our lives ever since—whether driving, crewing, volunteering, or cheering. For us, motorsport truly is a family affair.
