Yesterday, Sunday April 23, at 10:30 we held the Spring Drivers meeting for the 2023 regional road racing series in the CTMP Conference Centre. We'd like to thank everyone that attended.
Recognizing that not everyone could make it to the meeting, we have posted the SLIDE PRESENTATION so you can see what was discussed.
Some highlights...
1) The 2023 sponsors were listed and the terms and requirements to participate in any cash prizes were reviewed. Make sure you register for the 2023 Pirelli Tire Championship before May 6 if you want to share in the $35,000 available to be won.
2) The Motomaster Track Master designation was introduced. This is a 3 event mini-series that includes the SMP Cup Jun 3-4, The BARC Touring Trophy Races July 29-30 and the Calabogie Summer Classic Aug 19-20. We are very excited about Motomaster coming onboard as a sponsor this year!
3) The 2023 Decal Placement bulletin has been posted - take a look here: Road Racing | CASC Ontario Region Decals are available at Scrutineering - drop by and get a set.
4) Podium presentations: new for 2023, Penni Barker has a greed to serve as our Master of Ceremonies at all regional race events. We will be using the podiums provided by the tracks so remember after the feature race on Sunday to park your car as directed and come to the podium for trophy and other award presentations.
A couple of important questions came from the floor that are not covered in the slides.
Some one asked about tire supplies - Brad Shimbashi has asked me to tell all of our drivers to place their tire orders as soon as possible - do not show up at the track and expect tires to be available. We are expecting shortages so order your tires now!
Some one also asked about the changes to the championship points for 2023. It was pointed out that there were a couple of big drops in the scoring system so we are taking another look at the changes. We will send out an e-mail specifically dealing with the championship points for 2023 by the end of this week - watch for it.
Remember this weekend is Spring Fling at Shannonville. They are running test days on FRIDAY, April 28 and on SATURDAY, April 29 . Annual Tech inspections are available both days.
