Sent on behalf of Pat Cyr, CASC-OR Race Director:

We had 86 entries and that hasn't been seen since the 90's. The Paddock was full and people were smiling. The energy was high and the competition was amazing.

All grids put on a great show , with the 26 car count in the Miata Canada Cup it was bound to be a barn burner and it definitely didn't disappoint with Owen Clark and Matt Gauthier battling it out in all 3 races. The Toyo 1600's Brian Graham Racing and St-Lac hosted a lunch time ride along on Saturday for 12 athletes and their families from the Gladiators hockey team. Sure was heart warming to see them enjoying themselves. As for the Toyo 1600's races ,  well that was another on the edge of your seat exciting with Stewart Ross on the top spot in Sunday after noon final race. FPC saw a limited field but wasn't short on action with Mike MacNeil , Jeff Williams & Mark Boyd putting in some impressive laps around SMP. The Pirelli GT Sprints was also action packed with all 5 classes fighting it out. BC Cars brought out the big guns with a couple of the Trans Am cars ( TA2 ) driven by Blaise Csida himself and Misha Goikhberg and with Misha's blistering lap of 1:42.561 he took the Sunday afternoon win .

I'd personally like to thank all the competitors for making the trip out to SMP and for making it an amazing weekend.  A big thank you to all our amazing volunteers for the countless hours they donate for the sport we love. Also to John Bondar and the gang at SMP for continuing to make improvements to the iconic facility so we can enjoy racing. And last but not least our incredible sponsors. We are very fortunate to have such an amazing group that believe in us and help us make all this happen.

See you all at the VGP and followed up with the BARC event at CTMP in July.
