The FASTER! series of novels based within the drama and
excitement of high-end motorsports will be launched Saturday,
September 20, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mosport Park's
Lobby Bar, Bowmanville, Clarington, Ontario, Canada.
Book one of the series, titled, Risk vs. Reward, hits the
shelves this week on Amazon and books.by/cat-delaney, with book
two, Downforce vs. Degradation scheduled for release in
February 2026.

The series is penned by award-winning Canadian writer, Cat
Delaney, who spent a decade working in the upper echelons of
single-seater, open-wheel racing in public relations, driver
management and journalism. She has the inside track at the
racetrack.

These fictional stories, featuring an array of complex,
fascinating and very human characters, take place within the
framework of motorsports on real tracks, over many seasons,
dealing with a litany of victories and catastrophes.
An avid reader and racing fan, Delaney realized that while
there was a plethora of non-fiction books on racing, and a
continually growing list of racing movies, the 800,000,000
racing fans around the world had nothing fictional to read,
especially during withdrawal in the off season. Solved!
Each of the FASTER! books features as its protagonist a
different racing driver, at a certain point in his career, with
a specific career goal in mind. Backup persons include his
group of racing friends and those who populate his personal
life. It's our racing hero versus another driver in the pack
that season; his ruthless competitiveness slates him as the
antagonist. Fun and fury on and off the track.

The books are currently written in English, with the
possibility of translated versions in the future. Available in
e-book format or hard- and soft-cover print online, and in
bookstores. Free promotional print copies are available to the
media at the launch event.

Logline: Ten teams, 20 elite global drivers, countless crew
members, wives and girlfriends, sometimes both, friends and
foes, life-threatening risk, billions of dollars and world
championships at stake, and the desperate need for speed. What
could go wrong?

Synopsis: In Risk vs. Reward, book one of the series,
"Faster!", elder statesman, Italian Enrico Ciaro, a multiple
world racing champion and record holder, makes his big comeback
after an accident in 2019 that looked like a career-ender. Not
how Enrico saw things, and his comeback starts in July of 2020,
Covid season, a truncated race calendar that begins with
spectator-less races in Austria.
Through the 17-race season, full of compromises, masks,
skirmishes and mishaps, we follow Enrico as he contends with
his fellow racers, friends and foes, and grapples with his
encroaching age. Torn between giving it all up so younger
drivers can claim his space and fight to beat his records, and
staying the course, a decision that might net him greater
clout, more revenue, and a future in management, he warily
decides to pursue his career. And his ultimate goal of winning
his third driver's title, membership in racing's holy trinity.
Can he pull it off?
While it all seems like a calculated plan, nothing is
consistent at this highest level of open-wheel racing, and
anything can happen. Anything.
