2023 President’s Report

As you will see from each of the Division Directors’ reports, 2023 was a successful year for CASC-OR. The difficulties of winning people back post Covid, as well as rapidly rising costs presented challenges for all our member clubs and event organizers.

For 2024 we expect to see more pricing and cost stability, as well as improved entries.

In 2023, your Board met on a regular basis, and we’re pleased to report the organization is financially secure. We will continue to investigate ways to improve our operating efficiency and reduce administrative costs wherever we are able.

I would like to compliment Jennifer Di Francesco as she continues to develop her skills as our Office Administrator.

There are a number of Board positions up for election this year, including the Vice President, Treasurer, Race Director, Autoslalom Director, and Karting Director. As a volunteer organization, we are dependent on the time and effort that people so generously give to our community. Those serving on the Board do so from a love of motorsport and a desire to contribute to its on-going growth. You’d like to join us?

Thanks to everyone that participated in a CASC-OR member activity in 2023. The competitors certainly, but more importantly the officials and workers that organized all the events that our member clubs hosted.

I encourage as many people as possible to attend the meetings being held November 12 – the Ice Racing Meeting at 9 am, the Race Division Workshop at 11, and of course, the Annual Members’ Meeting. At 2 pm. Decisions are made by people that show -up. Help us set the direction for CASC-OR’s future.

Ted Michalos, President
