The first thing to do in terms of purchasing your own race car is to determine the CASC-OR race group that you plan to participate in.

 Pirelli Super Touring Sprints (cars running under 1m31s at CTMP)
 Pirelli Grand Touring Sprints (cars running over 1m31s at CTMP)
 Formula Libre, including Formula Prototype Challenge and F4
 Toyo Tires Formula 1600 Championship
 VARAC Vintage/Historic (Production-based and sports cars built pre-1980)


The path to obtaining a CASC-OR road racing license is quite simple, it starts with an interview with the Chief Race Coach/Instructor. contact them at racecoach@casc.on.ca. During your interview, you will discuss your background in racing, your racing intentions and interests, the type of car you plan on racing, etc. Our Chief Instructor will guide you to the program best suited to your existing skills and experience, as shown below.

Thomas attended his first autocross in 2014 in a Pontiac Sunfire—and was instantly hooked. Already deep into the worlds of WRC and F1, the chase for speed had officially begun. He credits much of his progress to Val DiPietro, the local “Autocross King,” who helped shape his early development.

Eventually, Thomas picked up a 2006 BMW 330i and began honing his skills. After taking the stock car to an OTA event, he started volunteering and later instructing with OTA. Soon after, he was brought on by Pinnacle Advanced Driving Academy, where he continues to enjoy teaching.

Pat has been involved in some form of racing for over 30 years. He started off riding and racing motocross, then worked for the Canadian Kawasaki Motocross Factory Team and eventually moved over to a Satellite Yamaha Team until 2009. Once he retired from the pro MX racing scene, he went back to racing and took up Rally & Rally X racing for a few years in the CARS and OPRC series 2010 -2014. After a few years off to raise his daughter, like any true racer he got the bug again and in 2019 bought a road race car. He fell in love immediately!
