Canadian Automobile Sports Club President Gunter Schmidt presents the Bob McCallum Scholarship winner cheques at the BEMC Spring Trophy Races.

The Bob McCallum scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to first year Motorsport competitors in the 2019 CASC-OR Championship, competing in the F1200, Toyo F1600 or Formula Libre Championship series.

This scholarship was made possible by a generous anonymous contribution to CASC-OR with the requirements to identify, encourage and foster new motorsport talent within Ontario, Canada and give financial assistance to the scholarship recipient.

20 year old Jonathan Woolridge from Oshawa, Ontario has been karting since 2011. His goal is to become a professional racing driver and compete in major North American racing series. Currently Jonathan is a first year automotive apprentice.

17 year old Dylan Mc Pherson from Quinte West, Ontario has been karting in Ontario for several years and is a Bridgestone Academy graduate. His goals are to finish high school and then pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering as well as winning the 2019 F1200 rookie of the year award.

Congratulations to both Scholarship recipients and good luck in your future motorsport careers.
