Autoslalom events are held in larged paved areas - parking lots, racetrack paddocks, even the occasional airport runways!

The events start in the morning with registration and a course walk through for competitors to familiarize themselves with where this weekend's course goes. Every autoslalom event has a unique course laid out with cones which indicate the path the drivers must follow.

Once everyone is registered and have had a chance to learn the track, racing starts.

Ice Racing started in Ontario more than fifty years ago, and it continues to thrive as an inexpensive, fun part of the Ontario motorsport scene.

Ice racing is exactly what it sounds like - cars racing wheel to wheel on a track of glare ice. As winter sets in, a track layout is plowed into a field, over and over, until the track is bordered by banks of snow several feet high and ten to fifteen feet deep. Then, the track is flooded with water repeatedly until a layer of ice a foot or more thick is built up. Bring out the cars and we're ice racing!

Toronto Autosport Club

The Toronto Autosport Club (TAC) exists to bring together automotive enthusiasts in the Toronto area, with the goal of promoting safe participation in various motorsport activities in the province of Ontario. TAC is affiliated with all the major organized racing organization such as ASN Canada FIA (the Canadian branch of the international governing body of motorsport, the FIA), CASC-OR (Canadian Automobile Sport Clubs Ontario Region), CARS (Canadian Association of Rally Sport) and RSO (Rally Sport Ontario).

Being a member of a recognized automotive club in Ontario is a requirement in participation in any organized motorsport in Ontario, so becoming a member of TAC will affiliate you with all of the above organizations and allow you to participate in racing and autosports.

The majority of TAC’s members participate in various forms of automotive competition, including Road Racing, Rallying, Time Attack, Autoslalom and Ice Racing.

TAC also has a very active social side. One of our most popular events is our barbecue at the American Le Mans Series Weekend at Mosport. Our annual Year End Party and Awards Banquet around November or December is always a fun night. And, of course, our monthly meetings give members a chance to catch up on the Club news, business, and other member’s competition exploits.

Fifth Gear is TAC’s award-winning monthly newsletter, published twelve times per year, and sent directly to our members. Usually running around thirty pages, it serves as the Club bulletin board and soapbox! In it you will find reports from the Club Executive, a complete autosport calendar of upcoming events, and a variety of articles and opinion pieces written by the members themselves.
