UMN is a club of Miata (MX-5) faithful. While most of our 240 members are in the National Capital Region, our membership covers the Seaway and the Ottawa Valleys extending to Montreal.  Having fun together with our Miatas is the essence of our Club. Trips along twisty roads (either for a day or longer, or maybe just to have an ice cream) bring us joy. Safety is always paramount.

I have been active in motorsport since the ‘70’s.  For a time I was the event race registrar with my club, starter, marshal and a clerk of the course.  In 2002 when Laura Schmidt decided to step down as Race Division’s Registrar, I decided to give it a go and have been looking after the entries since.   When CASC-OR was looking for a Treasurer I decided that perhaps it was my turn.

I began racing in 2006 with VARAC in a 1961 Bugeye Sprite (still have it). Continue to race with VARAC on the Vintage Historic, Classic and Formula Classic grids, have raced in the past in the Toyo F1600 Series and on the GT Sprint grid.  Even Ice raced once… I live in Guelph, ON with my wife and 3 girls and I work as an accountant for my “day job”.
